Our 11th Annual Gator Club® of Volusia County Scholarship Golf Tournament, was held on
July 25, 2009.  We had a 8:30 am shotgun, 4 person scramble at Halifax Plantation GC in Ormond Beach.  We had field of 116 players.  Register early for next year's event to assure your spot for 2010!!! 

This year we had great trophies for the 1st 3 teams as well as trophies for the last place team.  We also had over 100 raffle prizes.  This is a great hit with the players and as you can guess, if you didn't come away with something...you just didn't have a lucky bone in your body! We had Sponsorships available, Orange & Blue Sponsor level, Gator Sponsor level and Hole Sponsor level.  It is because of those Sponsors that our Tournament has been such a success over the years.......THANKS SPONSORS!

Since its inception in 1999, the Scholarship Golf Tournament, organized by the Gator Club® of Volusia County, has raised net proceeds of close to $144,000.00 with $14,000.00 raised in 2009!!!! This money benefits the Club's Scholarship Foundation for high school students entering the University of Florida.  With the help of the Tournament over the year's, the Club in 2009 has attained the goal of reaching $100,000.00 into our Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University...The State of Florida will match 50% of the monies in our Fund, which will make $150,000.00.  Our goal now is to begin a new Fund...reach our next goal of $100,000 and this will help many more students attending UF in the future.  WAY TO GO GATORS!!!!

The tournament brings together individual and corporate Gator fans, promoting great Gator times, renewing old friendships, and developing new ones. There are hundreds of students entering the University of Florida from Volusia County each year. The scholarship contributions from the Gator Club® of Volusia County are awarded to deserving students to help offset their educational expenses.

This tournament helps make it all possible.

Also special thanks needs to go to Bambi Morgan and her fine staff of volunteers that always keep the tournament organized....registration and set-up for the tournament.  Bambi also organized the raffle prizes and how smoothly everything went!  THANKS TO BAMBI and her Volunteers!  Bambi's volunteers this year were:  Amanda Albert, Sonia Chirieleison, Pamela Roberts, Leanne Siegfried and Heather Davis....special thanks goes to Walt Thrush...who was our official photographer and Tim Grzyna for keeping the beer full and cold on the par 3's!
